Q: When I receive emails in Outlook Express which contain links to Web addresses, the websites do not open with Internet Explorer by clicking on the link. Instead I have to copy and paste the address into IE. This is a recent fault and I cannot pinpoint any event which lost this facility.
A: Something has changed your browser default settings so that Outlook Express doesn’t know which program to use when you click on a link. Fortunately this isn’t hard to fix, go to Control Panel and select Internet Options. On the Programs tab there’s a Default web browser section about a third of the way down, this will probably be telling you that IE isn’t your default browser, click the Make Default button. Restart Windows and your email links should open when you click on them.

In Internet Options you can make IE the default browser
